Orange-Yellow foods:

When eating for color you are focusing on building up systems that may be deficient. Orange-yellow foods support the Liver and the eyes.

The liver’s main job is to filter the blood coming from the digestive tract, before passing it to the rest of the body. The liver also detoxifies chemicals from the body  and metabolizes drugs. As it does so, the liver secretes bile that ends up back in the intestines. The liver is one of the most robust organs in the body.  It is the only organ in the body that has the ability to regenerate itself after certain types of damage. Up to 25% of the liver can be surgically removed and within a short amount of time it will grow back to its original shape and size! It takes an amazing amount of abuse, but if cared for properly, it will function optimally for decades. The liver doesn’t handle alcohol or the drug Tylenol very well and with overuse of one or both of these the liver can become damaged irreparable.
