Aromatherapy is the use of plant materials and aromatic plant oils, including essential oils and other aroma compounds for improving psychological and physical well being.

The types of application of aromatherapy are:
*Air diffusion for environmental fragrancing or aerial disinfection, usually in a
defuser.
*Inhalation for respiratory disinfectant, decongestant, as an expectorant as well as for psychological effects.
*Topical applications for massage, in baths, compresses, and therapeutic skin care

Conditions and Aromatherapy Treatments

  • Voice (Hoarse): Jasmine
  • Tonsillitis: Chamomile (Roman), ginger, lavender, lemon (use as gargle),
    Melaleuca (apply to throats and lungs)
  • Lips: Chamomile (German), Lavender, Lemon, Melaleuca
               Dry Lips: Blend 2-5 drops Geranium with 2-5 drops      Lavender
  • Listlessness: Jasmine
  • Motion Sickness: Ginger, Nutmeg, Peppermint, Spearmint, (apply to feet,
    temples, and wrists)
  • Eczema: Bergamot, Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Helichrysum, Juniper, Lavender,
    Melissa, Patchouly, Rosewood, Sage
                Dry: Bergamot, Chamomile, Geranium, Hyssop, Rosemary
                Wet: Chamomile, Hyssop, Juniper, Lavender, Myrrh
  • Halitosis(Yep! Bad Breath): Cardamom, Lavender, Nutmeg, Peppermint
  • Peace: Juniper (aromatic), Lavender (aromatic), Marjoram, Ylnag-yang
  • Finding Peace: Tangerine (aromatic)
  • Promoting Peace: Chamomile
  • Bowel: (Irritable Syndrome) Peppermint
  • Sedative: Angelica, Coriander, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemongrass, Marjoram, Orange,
    Tangerine
