There are many weight loss supplements on the market today.

They claim is to help you lose weight or at the very least make it easier for you to lose weight when combined with the old standard of diet and exercise.

These supplements work in one or more ways:
Reduce appetite, making you feel full so that you eat fewer calories.
Reduce absorption of nutrients like fat, making you take in fewer calories.
Increase fat burning, making you burn more calories.

Garcinia Cambogia Extract
Is a small, green fruit, shaped like a pumpkin. The skin of the fruit contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the active ingredient, and the supplement must contain the skin, as well as, the fruit. Studies show that it can inhibit a fat-producing enzyme in the body and increase levels of serotonin, which can potentially helping to reduce cravings. It must contain 95% Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) and that needs to be listed the label. It must have no fillers, binders or any other extra ingredients! It must be 100% pure and in a vegetarian capsule.

Raspberry Ketones
Raspberry ketone is a substance found in raspberries, which is responsible for their distinct smell. A synthetic version of raspberry ketones is sold as a weight loss supplement. It is believed to increase the breakdown of fat and increase levels of a hormone called adiponectin, believed to be related to weight loss.

Green Coffee Bean Extract
Green coffee beans are just normal coffee beans that haven’t been roasted.
They contain two substances believed to help with weight loss, caffeine and chlorogenic acid. They are also high in antioxidants.

Glucomannan is a type of fiber found in the roots of the elephant yams, also called konjac. It absorbs water and becomes gel-like when taken, then it sits in your digestive system and promotes a feeling of fullness, helping you eat less.  Glucomannan is a fiber that can help feed the friendly bacteria in your intestines. It is important to take glucomannan about a half an hour before meals, with a full glass of water.

This is because studies have shown the main antioxidant in it, EGCG, may aid in fat burning and cause fat loss, especially in the belly. Green tea extract is believed to increase the activity of norepinephrine, a hormone that helps you burn fat.

It is the most commonly consumed psychoactive substance in the world. It is found naturally in coffee, green tea and dark chocolate and is added to many processed foods and beverages. Caffeine is a metabolism booster and is often added to commercial weight loss supplements. Caffeine can boost metabolism and increase fat burning. There are also some studies showing that caffeine can cause modest weight loss.

Bitter Orange / Synephrine
Bitter orange is a type of Orange that contains the compound synephrine.
Synephrine is a relative of ephedrine, which used to be a popular ingredient in weight loss pills. However, it has since been banned as a weight loss ingredient by the FDA because of the serious side effects. Synephrine shares similar mechanisms as ephedrine, but it is less potent. It has been shown to reduce appetite and increase fat burning.

Metatrim is a newcomer on the diet supplements market. It is a combination of two plant extracts that can change the metabolism of fat cells. It’s claim is that it makes it harder for fat cells to multiply, decreases the amount of fat that they pick up from the bloodstream, and helps them burn stored fat. Meratrim is also reported to improve the quality of life, reduced blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides.
