AROMA THERAPY (PART 4)

If you are unfamiliar with the use of essential oils please see my first post on Aromatherapy what is it and what is it used for (posted April 7, 2017) and my second article Aroma Therapy 2

Aromatherapy is the use of plant materials and aromatic plant oils, including essential oils and other aroma compounds for improving psychological and physical well being and can even keep your house clean without all the chemicals! Essential oils have so many uses for all sorts of ailments. Today I’m going to tell you how you can use essential oils to treat different types of Allergies.

 

Types of application

The types of application of aromatherapy are:
Air diffusion for environmental fragrancing or aerial disinfection, usually in a
defuser.
Inhalation for respiratory disinfectant, decongestant, as an expectorant as well as for psychological effects.
Topical applications for massage, in baths, compresses, and therapeutic skin care.

 

Treating all types of Allergies:

Eucalyptus, Lavender, patchouly, peppermint, raven; apply to sinuses, bottoms of feet, and diffuse. Apply 1 drop of peppermint on the base of the neck twice daily. Tap the thymus (located just below the notch in the neck) with pointer and index fingers (Energy fingers). Diffuse peppermint. The use of peppermint may result in no more allergy shots.

Hay Fever

Chamomile, eucalyptus, lavender, Melissa, rose

Rashes, Skin Sensitivity 

Apply 3 drops lavender, 6 drops Chamomile (Roman), 2 drops myrrh, and 1 drop peppermint on location of rash or sensitivity

Antihistamine

Chamomile, lavender Apply to sinuses and diffuse

Dermatitis

Bergamot, chamomile (blue and German), geranium, helichrysum, hyssop, juniper, lavender, patchouly, thyme

Insects
, often it is not the insect bite that causes the problem, but your body having a histamine (allergic) reaction to it. I deal with this issue, just a few mosquito bites and I’ve got huge welps and itch for days. Fire Ants are also a big problem for me, if I get a few ant bites on my feet or legs I swell so bad I can’t wear shoes for days.


Bites
; bergamot, blend 3 drops of chamomile, 4 drops eucalyptus, 10 drops lavender, and 1 drop thyme with 1 Tablespoon pure vegetable oil.

Insecticide
; Citronella

Repellent
; Bergamot (Blend #1: Combine 5 drops lavender, 5 drops lemongrass, 3 drops peppermint, and 1 drop thyme; put on feet or add a cup of water and spray on. (Blend #2: Clove, lemon, and orange)
